'Around The Barn' Is Nominated For DJ/Radio Show Of The Year

KHTS AM 1220 hosts many DJ/Radio shows, including The “Non-Profit Spotlight Show,” “The Real Side WithJoe Messina,” “The Hometown Morning Show” with George Cummings and many others.

“Around the Barn” is one of those shows, hosted by Nancy Pitchford with co-hosts Bobbi Jean Bell and Julie Fox-Pomilia, and Engineer Mike Dowler.

“‘Around The Barn’ invites guests from the world of Western Music as well as poets, authors, artists, designers, filmmakers/actors and equestrians,” said Bobbi Jean Bell, co-host of “Around the Barn.”

“Our shows use western music to tie all the elements together,” said Bell. “If our guest is a musician, then we feature his/her music. If our guest is an equestrian or author, (I choose) music appropriate for the theme of the show.”

The Western Music Association has nominated “Around the Barn” as one of the 5 finalists for DJ/Radio Show of the Year.

This is the third consecutive year that “Around the Barn” has been nominated. Bobbi Jean Bell will be representing the show at the conference.

“To have our names included amid a roster that includes Western Music headliners like Dave Stamey, Juni Fisher, Mary Kaye, Bill Barwick, Barry Ward and Belinda Gail is a thrill,” Bell said.

Awards will be presented Nov. 23 during the Annual Western Music Association Convention in Albuquerque.

“Nancy, Julie, Mike and I are honored to be nominated again this year by the Western Music Association,” Bell said. “There is nothing we all enjoy more than showcasing the finest musicians, authors, designers, artists and equestrians the West has to offer.”

Tune in to “Around the Barn” every Saturday from 9 a.m. through 10 a.m.
