Fire Department, HazMat Responds to Liquid Found in Valencia -- WEDNESDAY, APR 20, 2016

The Los Angeles County Fire Department and County Health Hazardous materials crews are responding to a report of a a liquid found in Valencia.

About a gallon of unknown liquid was found in the gutter near Valencia Boulevard and Bouquet Canyon Road around 6 p.m., said Supervisor Michael Pittman with the LACoFD. No illnesses or injuries have been reported.

Around 8:30 p.m., crews determined the substance was a “water and chlorine mix,” said LACoFD Supervisor Rey Dong.

“We’re in the process of clearing it,” he said. “We’re waiting for L.A. County Public Works to come secure it.”

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies were on scene to assist with traffic.
