Children go missing or run away far too often in and around the Santa Clarita Valley, but what if you could do something to help find them?

SCV Live Scan and Notary, located inside All American Bail Bonds in Santa Clarita, offers fingerprinting.

“Fingerprinting could mean the difference between finding, identifying your child and never knowing where they went,” said Inessa Chavez, vice president of All American Bail Bonds in Santa Clarita. “All of my children are fingerprinted and many of my friend’s children are fingerprinted.”

Live Scan replaced traditional ink fingerprinting. A Live Scan box is not much bigger than a shoebox.

Here’s how it works: the operator of the Live Scan rolls each of your fingers over the screen which digitally scans your fingerprint, creating an image on the computer monitor that it is hooked up to.  The images can then be sent to the FBI, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, etc.

“We have found Live Scan to be very beneficial,” Chavez said. “There are many professions and careers that require you to have a Live Scan done.”

Teachers, volunteers, journalists and a wide range of other occupations require fingerprinting and background checks.

“All of my bail agents at All American Bail Bonds in Santa Clarita have had to get their Live Scan fingerprints,” Chavez said. “Fingerprinting is incredibly important now.”

SCV Live Scan and Notary Services, located at 23360 Valencia Blvd. Ste. E, Valencia is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. by walk-in or appointment.

“Appointments are preferred so that we can get you in and out of the office in a timely manner,” Chavez said.
