Coroner’s officials are working to notify the next of kin of the man whose body was found behind the Oak Tree Apartment Complex Wednesday evening, officials said Thursday.
Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies were called out the apartment complex on Oak Ridge Drive at 4:06 p.m., said Sgt. Cortland Myers with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide detectives and Los Angeles County Department of Coroner officials arrived on scene around 7 p.m.
“We were sent out here in regards to a male who was found out in the bushes here,” said Sgt. Steve Rubino with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau. “We were just doing a death investigation. Right now, it appears to be a suicide of a male adult. Right now, we’re trying to determine the identity.”
The cause of death was a gunshot wound, Rubino said.
