Every so often, bail recovery agents with All American Bail Bonds in Santa Clarita are sent out to find and capture a wanted fugitive who has skipped bail.
Charles Davenport, 50, of Lancaster, was bonded out Oct. 19 of last year and missed his court date on Nov. 10, said Jeff Chavez of All American Bail Bonds in Santa Clarita.
Davenport was caught by bail recovery agents with All American Bail Bonds in Santa Clarita.
“He had been on the run and was found by fugitive recovery agents in an apartment in Rosamond,” Chavez said. “The arrest of Mr. Davenport is not only good for us, it’s also good for the communities where he was selling drugs.”
Davenport was charged with possession for sale cocaine-based, possession for sale of controlled substance, maintaining a place for selling or using controlled substance with that substance being cocaine and meth, said Ricardo Santiago with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office.
Davenport pleaded no contest in Sept. 13, 2013 and was sentenced on Oct. 4, 2013, Santiago said. He had a post sentence hearing on Nov. 10, 2014. He had a Jan. 27, 2015 court date for a possible violation of probation.
Davenport’s next court date is scheduled for Feb. 3.
“We don’t like having to use bail recovery agents and want to help our clients,” Chavez said. “The best advice I can give is to just go to your court date, don’t skip it. Things are worse if you skip your court date.”
