Deputies Investigate Saugus Stabbing After Social Media Conflict -- January 27, 2015

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies are investigating an assault Sunday night started after a conflict on social media.

Around 7 p.m. Sunday, a 16-year-old teen was stabbed by an unknown suspect on the 27600 block of Susan Beth Way in Saugus, said Lt. Brenda Cambra of the Sheriff’s Department Detective Bureau

“Apparently, the (male) victim was communicating with the suspect on social media and the suspect came to the victim’s home,” Cambra said. “There was an argument and apparently the suspect stabbed the victim one time with a knife.”

Emergency officials said the teen’s injuries were believed to be non-life-threatening, she said. The teen was transported to a Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital.

Sheriff’s officials are continuing to investigate the incident and the suspect remains unknown.
