Chiang will speak the evening of Monday, March 16.
“Right now, we’ve got 110 community leaders getting ready to take off for Sacramento on March 16 and 17,” said Carl Goldman, co-owner of KHTS AM 1220. “This year, we are advocating key issues including the high speed rail, drought, education and workers comp., among others.”
Participants include four Santa Clarita City Council members, the College of the Canyons Chancellor, school superintendents, SCV Chamber of Commerce board members, Castaic Lake Water Agency board members, business leaders, CEO’s of non-profit organizations and five students from high schools in the valley.
“The unique thing about this is no other community in the country that we know of does this and no other community in California does this,” Goldman said. “You have all this cross-leadership up there not just talking about their own self-interest, instead we have a very wide group advocating something that’s very important to our community.
“No other community does an event like this.”
